Q: How do I Register?

A: Go to www.shareddoc.com. Click the Get Started Now button - Click "Free Registration" on the left of the page, and complete the information form on the following page.

Q: How do I Upload a Document?

A: Once you've registered and signed in, you can click on the Upload a New Doc button.

Click to browse your computer and select a Word file that you'd like to discuss. Then, you'll need to give it a name (or title). The name will appear in your list of documents as well as the list for those you invite to discuss.

Once you've clicked Submit, the name can no longer be changed. Make sure you choose a name that is easy to understand and identify - since you may end up with a long list of documents. You can also click Cancel to go back.

Q: How do I Invite Others to Review and Comment on My Document?

A: After you've uploaded your document, you can begin sharing it by clicking the Share button.

Use SharedDoc to invite colleagues, employees, and friends - whomever you wish - to view your document. Just add their email address and a personal message in the e-mail platform that we provide. The invitation will be sent with a reply-to of the email address you used to register with SharedDoc

The e-mail address that you registered with will display as the reply-to.

You can return to this page using the Share button at any time to see the status of all your invitations.

Q: How do we Discuss the Document?

1. Highlight the exact portion of the text that you want to discuss by left clicking and dragging your mouse.

2. Click on the Comments icon on the top left-hand side of the bottom window.

3. A window titled Post Comment will open.

4. Give your comment a title by typing it in the Subject bar.

5. Type your comment in the Post Comment box.

6. Click Post.

7. Your comment will appear in the Comments Tab shortly.

8. Comment on a previous post by clicking on the corresponding Reply button. The Post Comment screen will appear in the window below. Type your reply, then click on Post. Your reply will appear in the Comments Tab shortly.

Q: Can I Print the Comments?

A: Simply clicking on the Print button under the hosted document will convert your project, original documents, comments and all, into a printable .PDF file.

You can press the printer icon to print it, or save icon to store it on your desktop.

Q: What Browsers do you support?

A: SharedDoc Requires Internet Explorer 6.0+ (Windows) Firefox 2.0+ (Mac/Windows) or Safari 4.0+ (Mac/Windows).

Q: What file types are supported?

A: We support Word and PowerPoint. Open Office documents will be supported shortly.

Q: How do I know once someone has accepted my invitation?

A: Return to the "Share" page to see the status of your invitations

Q: How do I "uninvite" someone?

A: Return to the "Share" page - click to select the person, and click "Cancel Invite".

Q: I invited someone - but they lost the link email - can I send a new one?

A: Yes - go back to the "Share" page - click to select the person, and click "Resend Invite".

Q: Can my invited users invite others?

A: Not into your document. We protect your privacy, so only you decide who is invited.

Q: How do I edit a comment?

A: If you made the comment, you'll see a link that will allow you to edit it. You can't edit a comment made by someone else.

Q: Can I delete a document?

A: Only if you uploaded it to begin with. Click the name of the document, and click "Delete".

Q: How am I notified that new comments have been made?

A: On your documents page, you'll see the number of comments listed below the title of your document, along with the date of the most recent comment. You'll also receive an email with the comment included.
